BECOMING AN OUTDOORS WOMAN DEER HUNT
Are you ready to take your outdoor skills to the next level? Join the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) for a special Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) Deer Hunt at Buffalo Ridge Refuge!
This hands-on hunting opportunity is designed to help women gain confidence, develop hunting skills, and experience the excitement of deer hunting in a supportive, educational environment.
Whether you are a new hunter or looking to expand your outdoor experience, this is an opportunity to learn, connect, and create lasting memories in the great outdoors!
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Hunting instruction and safety orientation.
- Opportunities to learn about deer behavior, scouting, and hunting techniques.
- Mentorship and support from experienced hunters.
- A welcoming environment focused on building confidence and outdoor skills.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Women interested in learning more about deer hunting and developing their outdoor skills. Participants must meet all applicable hunting license, hunter education, and event eligibility requirements.18 years or older. Preference is given to first time participants. AGENDA
Friday:
9:00 AM: Arrival and check-in
9:30 AM- 12:00: Deer Hunting 101
1:00 – 5:30 PM: Range and firearm safety
5:30- 6:30 PM: Dinner
6:30 PM: Overview and Draw for Stands
Saturday:
4:00- 4:40 AM: Breakfast
4:45 AM: Disperse to hunting locations ( meet outside kitchen/ classroom area)
5:00 AM- 10:30 AM: Hunting
12:00- 1:00PM: Lunch
2:30 PM: Meet at Barn to disperse to hunting stands
3:30- Dark: Hunting/ Dinner will follow
Sunday:
4:00- 4:40 AM Breakfast
4:45 AM: Disperse to hunting locations
5:00 AM- 10:30: Hunt
11:00 AM- Lunch/ pack up
*Deer Cleaning will be based upon harvested deer*Please bring LARGE cooler
