Buffalo Ridge Refuge Youth Deer Hunt

If you are between the ages of 10-16, hunter safety-certified, and have NEVER harvested a deer before, you are eligible to win a hunt for opening day of the Tennessee’s Young Sportsman Deer Hunt on October 26th. This year 25 lucky hunters will be selected.

***Online applications must be completed using the youth hunters license account, Not the accompanying adult. Applications made using adults accounts will be disqualified***

***Applications showing a previous deer harvest will be disqualified***

The lucky winners will be hunting Buffalo Ridge Refuge located in Humphreys County approximately 2 miles off exit 143 on Interstate 40. The property incorporates a variety of wildlife management practices and encompasses nearly 2000 acres of prime deer habitat. Shooting houses will be provided and a guide will take you to and from your hunting site via UTV or Truck. Your guide will also assist you in retrieving your harvest.

The event will incorporate a Friday night cookout and campout (primitive camping, and you must provide your own camping gear). If you prefer not to camp, there are several hotels and a KOA available a few miles from the refuge. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided on Saturday. This is only a one-day hunt.

The agency will select the lucky winners and confirmation packets will be emailed by October 12. The email will include directions, a list of things to bring, and a list of area hotels. Winning hunters are responsible for providing the appropriate Tennessee hunting license and must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult at least 21 years of age or older.

**On Friday night (10/25/2024) there will be a Mandatory safety speech and stands will be drawn in preparation for Saturday morning.
