TWRA and the Tennessee Fur Harvesters Association will be holding a trapper training camp at Buffalo Ridge Refuge in Humphreys county the weekend of February 25-27.
Instructions to include: live trapline, fur handling, set making, snaring, and trap modification.
The training camp will begin on Friday with registration from 5:00pm - 6:45 pm. Classroom instruction from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Friday evening.
Saturday will start with breakfast at 7:00 am, followed with Live Trapline and technical instruction throughout the day.
Sunday will continue with more Live Trapline instruction and hands-on instruction as well.
There is on-site primitive camping and hotels nearby at both locations.
Bring weather appropriate clothing and note taking materials. Bring camping gear as needed.
All meals are provided free of charge.
